Charles Heintz Vineyard Sparkling Pinot Noir Rosé 2018

For me it’s one if not the best domestic sparkling wines. Is it worth the coin? Debatable for sure. Loads of red berry fruit and balanced. — 2 months ago

@Ed Chin, do you buy direct from the winery? Personally, I think the winery price is spot on. What’s your comparator?

@Ron i do purchase direct I’m not a big bubbles person though i do enjoy them more and more. If I do drink bubbles I have had had more success with champagne. I find good value with grower/producers or lesser producers. Bereche, De Sousa, Chartogne, Paul Bara, Egly Ouriet are few.

Château La Canorgue

Le Coin Perdu Côtes du Luberon 2015

9.3

30 minute decant. Dark purple, almost black color. Nose is filled with brown sugar, dark cherry, and plum. Mix of CDP and Rhône. Wine is very concentrated with plum flavor to start and coffee and cocoa at the end. Lovely texture! Medium finish. Better than my first bottle of this. — 4 years ago

Ferraton Père & Fils

Patou Cornas Syrah 2016

2016 vintage. Soft and indistinctive nose and flavors upon opening and stayed that way for the better part of two hours. Then started to gain substantial weight/heft, and spice complexities on the finish. Opened this waay too early but it lost a coin flip to the 2019 Alain Voge VV Cornas. Picked up a dirty, copper penny note + iodine along the way. 2.26.23. — a year ago

Domaine du Petit Bondieu

Un coin de paradis Bourgueil Cabernet Franc 2019

Deceptively simple elegance. Just enough herbal funk to add depth, and the bright, rich fruit pops out on day two. — 3 years ago

Clos Triguedina

Au Coin du Bois Cahors Malbec 2013

16/20 (89/100) Аромат спелых ягод черники, кожи и гвоздики. Довольно тельное с высокой кислотностью и напористыми танинами. Мускулистое, рустичное. — 4 years ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Need to order some more of this-pronto. Obviously too young but firing on nearly all cylinders at this point. The go-to BDX for those that want to drop coin on BDX but aren't familiar with BDX. For those of us that are familiar with the area/wines, this producer and vintage are delivering overtime. Voluptuous and sexy mixed with just enough down to earth(iness). Drinking phenomenally now. Too youthful to accurately speculate on the end game/potential of this vintage now. Much of the baby fat is gone yet there are a few strands left. Going back to the 1988 vintage, this is in my top three Cos offerings- like now, man... 4.29.23 — a year ago

El Centimo

Lot 532 Real Rioja Tempranillo 2010

Tempranillo blend with Grenache and Graciano. Plenty of tannins that needed more than an hour to open up and let you taste the fruit it was hiding. Dark, vibrant fruits were exposed that gave the wine body and complexity. A potent, vibrant 10 year old wine that could be stored another 10 years and gain in complexity. Interestingly it had a metal coin on top of the cork that we didn’t realize it was there... so pushing in the automatic cork screw actually pushed the cork into the bottle 🤨. Oh well, we survived 😋 — 4 years ago
