2020 vintage. So if the 2018 vintage of this wine (didn't taste the 2019 effort) was the Galactus-destroyer of (known) worlds-with otherworldly tannins (it is/was), this is the (initially) compliant Silver Surfer version with raspberry, sandalwood and milk chocolate covered almonds in the mix. Day and night. Night and day. Cole Porter was onto something there. Opened and tasted after 30 mins. Medium body. Pleasant. Balanced. Agreeable. Slightly dryish but able to easily link a noun and a verb without first responder assistance. Hint of Chambord/old-school leaden wine neck capsule/foil/metallic accent on the finish. Drinking great already but enough development already to hold onto a few to trace over the next decade and a half. Should be found under $36 or so USD. 7.23.24. — 2 months ago
Blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon, bright lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pineapple and citrus with floral notes and herb spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus and stony mineral spice. — 9 days ago
Classy, elegant, serious. Good Malbec touch — a month ago
The vines of Lilian-Ladouys are found a stone's throw from the Graves of Cos d'Estournel and the Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. Deep Ruby red color, with inky tones, blend of mostly Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, aged in French oak for 15 months, aromas of black and blue fruit, smoky notes and soft spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with toasty oak flavors, full body with fine tannins, long finish ending with earthy menthol mineral character. — 13 days ago
perfect. still tart with notes of stone fruit. — 5 days ago
Big & self-assured, and yet elegant. Still very young. Very CS dominated nose, black fruit, some cassis, a touch of nice wood & dark chocolate rounded & very elegant.
Proper St Estephe on palate - good tannic frame, juicy acidity, pure black fruit. Great depth here. And aging potential. Needs a bit of time, but it’s already shining. — a month ago
Incredible nose of slightly dried fruit, graphite, and tilled earth. Palate is slightly less powerful than imagined given vintage and commune. Fully resolved tannins. Delicious aged Bordeaux drink in next 5 years. — a month ago
