Muito delicado, perfumado e profundo. Mereceria nota maior se não fosse um amargor forte no retrogosto. — 5 years ago
Rich, toasty chenin with champagne-like character. Oxidative style. I loved it. — 5 years ago
Less oxy than pap or fosse. Preffered. — 6 years ago
Pompette. Blød, sur, skøn. Minder lidt om Gorge Seche fra Brendan Tracey. (Også Pineau d'Aunis). — 7 years ago
Enjoyed this 95 CF 5 CS blend from Saumur. Classic mineral backbone was present, just enough punch, but the best was its rounded and elegant texture that manifested on the palate. Not devoid of character, not sterile by any means, but just a classic Loire CF that decided to dress up for the evening and showed well. Clean, layered, downright drinkable — 8 years ago
Amazing wine. Crisp and fresh, but sophisticated. — 9 months ago

Lovely depth of flavors with great balance — 8 years ago
Wow, two wines in one. Nose is a dark, stemmy cab franc, Saumur style, lots of green pyrazines and a bit of soft berries in the background. Palate is totally different, smooth, crunchy, very soft on the tannins. One of the most clever uses of carbonic I’ve seen — a year ago
These Ruppert-Leroy champagnes are so very distinctive, aren’t they? As soon as you open one, you can tell this is going to be an experience. An almost peachy gold color with very, very faint green specks. Impressively paced tiny bubbles. The nose is straight RL with hay and strawberry. Old wood and citrus. These aromas do not come immediately, it’s more than a bit shy and takes plenty of time to get going. Let it sit for a while and you’ll be rewarded.
This beauty is pure tension and drama and I’m all the way here for it. 100% Pinot Noir from the La Fosse Grely lieu dit in the village of Essoyes in the Aube. A sans soufre wine with zero dosage disgorged in late 2020. Very energetic and thrilling, especially the longer you spend time with it.
Quite autolytic in profile and very unique, but the important thing is that it’s delicious. The acidity is racy and lively and on the palate, this becomes amazing after an hour or two. The cherries and raspberries take a backseat to wood, spice, and everything nice. Fantastic length. This is not a wine made for everyone to be honest but it is glorious stuff for the rest of us. — 3 years ago

Wine 3/3 we put up against homemade pizza night. The blend on this wine was listed as 95% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Much more complete of a wine than the one before it in the evening. Clean and composed, this wine struck a balance of its blend and benefitted from its barrel program. At a great spot with perfectly tuned levels of earth, fruit, and minerality all working together. — 8 years ago
