Drinking well now, this is a well composed wine that typifies Rioja. I first had this about six years ago, and really enjoyed it. This time round, it’s of course more mature, but perhaps falls somewhat short on the finish. The nose is absolutely knockout - it smells much more than the £15 that I paid for it - but on the palate it doesn’t quite live up to it. Still, a very pleasant drink. — 7 years ago

If you can find this, and you dig Rioja based Tempranillo blends, get it. Brought as a starter and perhaps backup to bday grilled steak & eggplant dinner along with a @Rattalino 34 Barolo 2013. Well, the Barolo was tired…but this kicked 🫏. 30- mins open, blue black fruits and some garrigue on the nose echoed on the palate with bright acidity and body that reminded me of a fine Morgon, with a little extra zip.
Paired excellently with Rib-eyes that got the @Babbo rub( find that in the Babbo cookbook 👍) and other assorted fare. As my brand new son in law said “ that one is fire”🔥 Ha Ha.

Coconut, Banana, White flowers on the nose. (With air, lots of herbs),A faint touch of the mineral quality that follows through on the finish of the palate. Said palate is less floral and more linear, mineral, especially after some airing in the glass. The bitterness that feels mineral is a nice contrast to perceived fruit, as it adds an interesting aftertaste. Viura, Grenache Blanc, and Tempranillo Blanco. Interesting blend.
I’ve had Tempranillo Blanco as a standalone, but only as of ‘25,in San Sebastián where in one Pintxo bar, it worked quite well with parts of their menu.
This winery is a wife & husband team who, from what I gather, hope to bring some “traditional” Riojan winemaking style to modern production.
I’m looking forward to trying their offerings beyond entry level.
