Opened for Joan/Brett visit. Excellent dessert wine with honeyed yellow flowers balanced by minerals and acids carrying through to palate and pleasant finish. Yum! Founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and sits on a tree covered knoll overlooking the Napa Valley, with caves that extend for over a mile. Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruit, sweet oak, spice and floral scents. On the palate flavors of ripe peach, melon and apple, with vanilla spice, creamy texture. Light-colored and very fragrant. Kirsch, raspberry ooze, crushed rock, light spice. Intensely flavored. Alcohol is listed at 14.5, but because this was served too warm it poked through a bit. I’m sure at “chambre “ temp it would be better. Even too warm, it’s very good, and went so well with our tapas selections. — 3 days ago
