Hentley Farm

The Beast Barossa Valley Shiraz 2006

Pop n pour:
Time has taken care of the overt and opulent blend of bacon fat and blueberrypie.
Today, 5 years later, this has significantly more elegance (!) and better balance. Gorgeous notes of lavender, dark plums and blackberries, coffeebeans, a spicy pepper/cinnamon/nutmeg mixture and a whiff of cocoapowder.
Great wine. Delicious.

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1989

Intense. Iodine, inky blue fruit, ferrous, dark plum, blood. A real brooding beast of real quality. The finish is really long, savory and memorable. — 3 years ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2003

Alex Lallos
9.5

Still young but finally taking on some tertiary character. A little simple to start but then after an hour it gained in weight and all the cool exotic spice comes out. I had this wine in 2008 when it was a baby, full of new oak and fresh blue fruits. Now she’s a different beast and still amazing. — 2 years ago

Chappellet

Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

The 2015 Chappellet Prichard Hill has developed into a beast of a wine. Loaded with fruit this wine is going to continue to develop for many years. But decanting needed if you plan to have it in the next few years — 3 years ago

Maal Bestial Malbec 2016: Full-bodied. Medium tannins. Big & bold fruit flavors. Plum, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco & spice, ending with a long smooth finish. A tremendous “beast” of a Malbec and the perfect pairing with Perry’s Famous Pork Chop dish! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago
