Nose: bretty, blackberry, blueberry, tarragon, eucalyptus/licorice, red plum, slight spice maybe anise, slight tartaric acid greek yogurt creamy thing going on.

Taste: medium bodied. cherry, cranberry, black/blueberry, herbal fennel, grippy mid palate tannins with a nice redfruit background, soft round low pH creamy dairy like end. Great balance of acid and sweetness with a round soft finish.

Bestial Vistaflores Malbec 2016

Maal Bestial Malbec 2016: Full-bodied. Medium tannins. Big & bold fruit flavors. Plum, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco & spice, ending with a long smooth finish. A tremendous “beast” of a Malbec and the perfect pairing with Perry’s Famous Pork Chop dish! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago

Hentley Farm

The Beast Barossa Valley Shiraz 2006

Pop n pour:
Time has taken care of the overt and opulent blend of bacon fat and blueberrypie.
Today, 5 years later, this has significantly more elegance (!) and better balance. Gorgeous notes of lavender, dark plums and blackberries, coffeebeans, a spicy pepper/cinnamon/nutmeg mixture and a whiff of cocoapowder.
Great wine. Delicious.

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2003

Alex Lallos

Still young but finally taking on some tertiary character. A little simple to start but then after an hour it gained in weight and all the cool exotic spice comes out. I had this wine in 2008 when it was a baby, full of new oak and fresh blue fruits. Now she’s a different beast and still amazing. — a year ago

Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

The 2015 Chappellet Prichard Hill has developed into a beast of a wine. Loaded with fruit this wine is going to continue to develop for many years. But decanting needed if you plan to have it in the next few years — 3 years ago

La Bastide Blanche

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2017

So I jumped the gun a little on this one. It’s tight and will be much better in time, but after a few hours in the decanter is started to unfurl. The nose is all ripe, roasted plum, blackberry, currant, and blueberry with notes of leather, thyme, underbrush, mud, and a touch of cinnamon. This is subtle on the entry but really explodes on the mid-palate and never ending finish. All of the aromas come through on the palate with the addition of tar and wet concrete. The tannins here are substantial, and it was a little much until the steaks came off the grill. Big wine with big flavors. Will sit on the next bottle for at least a few years, but no regrets - beautiful beast of a wine. — 3 years ago
