Caveau Des Jacobins

Montpalais Rully 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

A perfectly composed bouquet with a well-balanced flavor profile. The snails were accompanied at Caveau des Arches in Beaune. — 22 days ago

Château Laroze

Famille Meslin St. Émilion Grand Cru Merlot Blend 2016

2016 vintage. 62% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark red with some orange evolution on the rim. Raspberries and cedar wood , with truffles lurking in the background. Medium-bodied, with slightly jammy red fruit. The tannins are not as velvety as both the 2020 and 2022, but still there is a good balance, complexity and length. Maybe closing down a bit, the future will tell. However, I don't see this ever reaching the level of the 2020 and certainly not 2022. Outperformed by the 2016 Couvent des Jacobins tasted alongside.
Abv. 13,5%.

Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge Flemish Sour Ale

I love Belgian sours this time of year. This one features cherries, apple, oak, and vanilla. Drinks way to easy for the R-OH content. — 6 years ago

Domaine Le Clos de Caveau

Lao Muse Vacqueyras Grenache Syrah 2015

Heavy, rich tannery, leather, cigar smoke, hot cinnamon. Plums.

Woah, reminds me why I love this region. Not the most rounded Vacqueyras I’ve had, but definitely got the smokey, rich, spicy, full body notes I love, paired with an incredibly silky mouthfeel.

Intense fruits of blackberry, raspberry, plums. Moderate to high acidity works well here with the intense jams.

Domaine Le Clos de Caveau

Carmin Brillant Vacqueyras Red Rhone Blend 2015

Nice set of four Vacqueuras 60/40 Grenache/Syrah blends from Henri Bungener at RawWine LA, represented by the Carmin Brillant here. Each of the four are the same blend but each from a different part of the Vineyard slope with different soil/geologic features. The Fruit Sauvage bottling was a 9.2 and went very well with Soft Pretzel and Sausage sampler at Tabula Rasa. — 9 years ago

Caveau Des Byards

This wine was absolutely marvellous! It had developed incredibly well, and the tertiary notes of aroma and flavour were amazing! I would like to enjoy this wine a couple more times. — 7 months ago

Couvent des Jacobins

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Probably my favorite St. Emillion. First had it at a restaurant in St. Emillion (2006 vintage?) and brought some back home. Had several 2009 vintage bottles since. Love this wine. — 10 months ago

Château de Bellevue

Le Clos Réserve Caveau Morgon Gamay 2011

Dark ruby color, nose with accents of "Blue Stones" rather black cherry, accompanied by toasted melted notes of aging. The third dimension is driven by evolution and its many very Burgundian nuances (roasting, undergrowth, pot-pourri). Semi-light body although quite intense and concentrated, The finish is of a beautiful length, carried by fleshy and coated aging tannins.
