A very gastronomic wine. Matured, ready to drink, round, cherry casino notes hints of earth and leather. — 5 years ago
At nibi restaurant inside FireKeepers Casino. Very tasty fruit forward cab, yet finishes like a franc or merlot. My friend Mike Spontelli’s new favorite. — 7 years ago

2009 is wonderful right away.. Lovely peppery and deep cherry tones with dry finish.. Dennis's favorite and he even noticed the bottle in the train scene in Casino Royale movie! — 9 years ago
The Caymus of the Central Coast. Inky with massively extracted red and black fruit, and in a mode not unlike pie filling. Not to be denied, it's loaded with vanilla, baking spice, fig, and a few drops of root beer extract. The aura of charcoal and new leather weave throughout, all with an edge of tilled earth. Translating this from taste and smell to sight and sound, this is walking into a brand new casino. — 9 years ago

What a wine and what a night - even won money at the casino - the cork wasn’t cooperating and gave us problems but once open this was creating lots of smiles

When you're stuck out at the Cherokee resort and casino taking classes for 3 days thank god there's a Ruth Chris and good wine. There is wayyyyy to much tie dye and sweat pant material here for me. 😳🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 9 years ago

I really enjoyed this. A little spicy, moderately rich, nice dark berries on the nose. Assisted by rainy, gray days. Would be nice with pasta, I bet. Or pizza. Mushroom pizza. Or maybe mushroom and sausage. And other assorted meats. Nice, classy label too, if you’re into that kind of thing.... — 6 years ago

Loved with shrimp scampi—made with lemon juice, zest, vermouth, fines herbes, fresh garlic ... and the next day with leftovers & Italian bread. Lovely summer wine with minerals and enough richness & humph to pair with seafood. Shrimp, oysters.clams casino? — 8 years ago
I bought what was left of this from a retailer north of Austin for $24.97. Beringer sells it for $65, with Total Wine at $60, and Spec's is in the low $50s. I knew exactly what I was getting. The wine is like a casino. An overly dramatic facade with the wine equivalents of slot dings and clanks and loungey jazz. It is really hard not to like, but I'm sure its pleasure will burn a quick wick. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot, Cab Franc, Petite Sirah, and Malbec. The majority of the fruit comes from Howell Mountain, and the depth shows, despite the generous oak treatment. Blackberry jam, cedar, chocolate truffle and ganache, brand new leather, with secondary mint leaf and espresso. This is a much better wine than The Prisoner, which seems like an appropriate price point for something like this. — 9 years ago

Beyond beautiful! Immediately soft upon opening—had planned to decant for 4-6 hours but decided against. Open and had small taste with Maggie Harrison around noon. Decided to re-cork it and decanted at 4PM.
At noon I got (very unexpected) cranberry notes on the nose and the palate was considerably more gentle than expected.
After two hour decant: Soft (cat tongue), integrated tannins, pomegranate, black cherry begins to emerge. Herbs, smoky/meaty notes emerge
