Beringer Vineyards
Quantum Napa Valley Red Blend
Easy drinking - but meh. I don't see any potential here either

I knew exactly what I was getting. The wine is like a casino. An overly dramatic facade with the wine equivalents of slot dings and clanks and loungey jazz. It is really hard not to like, but I'm sure its pleasure will burn a quick wick. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot, Cab Franc, Petite Sirah, and Malbec. The majority of the fruit comes from Howell Mountain, and the depth shows, despite the generous oak treatment. Blackberry jam, cedar, chocolate truffle and ganache, brand new leather, with secondary mint leaf and espresso. This is a much better wine than The Prisoner, which seems like an appropriate price point for something like this.

In the glass, mid purple color and surprisingly, fairly fast moving legs. The nose smells of baking spices and leather. On the tongue, Bing cherries, and black pepper spice.
Enjoy the circus, everyone. 🇺🇸

Dark in color and displays dark fruits on both the nose and the palate. Slightly grippy tannins but overall smooth and will go great with a cut of beef.

Sep 6th, 2015Ugh. A crime against nature. I'm trying to find something nice to say. I don't even like the label.

May 25th, 2020Still young, black fruit, silky tannin. All in all good wine but I’m not crazy for it.
