Merlot fronted Bordeaux blend from Santa Ynez (43% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon). Much better with time to breath. Mixed berry fruit, tobacco, and subtle black licorice. Acidity stands firms and outshines tannins on the palate. Super fresh and juicy forest fruits pervade. Think pasta or grilled chicken pairing. Cool label artwork too! — 6 years ago
Nice aged leather aromas. Nice smooth fruit with minimal complexity. Very enjoyable. — 9 years ago
Introduced to this on our last trip to Fredericksburg. My fav from this winery — 6 years ago
So savory. Dark fruits, cedar, black pepper. Delish. — 9 years ago
Floral full bodied & delicious. Lovely wine. — 9 years ago
Another faulty cork, but this wine has done a lot of growing up in the last couple of years since I've come back to it. Much darker and dense fruit core. Black fruit, hint of truffle, hint of mushroom, black spice and lots of dense powerful black fruit in the front and the middle. The nose of this integrates cinnamon with flowers with dark black fruit. This one finishes much stronger than the Barranca which was one vintage younger. I would say there is absolutely no rush to drink this one, and I will keep my other bottle around another year or two in order to see how it integrates. Still has some toasted tannin on the finish. Probably one of the best red wines I've had from this producer. — 6 years ago
balanced fruit and acidity. Four barrels produced. Great organic wine. Could use a lot more time in the bottle — 7 years ago
Bright cherry notes and a sophistication that is sometimes lacking in #NoSulfites wines. Impressive new release from the folks at Casa Barranca! #Organic — 9 years ago

Sweet on the first sip; very little smoke but a bit there; creamy but not lactic; in the mouth more biased towards the veggie/synthetic flavors which you only get excellent Mezcal. Love — a year ago
