Other ratings called this “closed” which I completely agree with. The dense flavors took forever to open up. I popped it at noon for a 7:30p dinner of chick pea and potato pasta, and it was still developing. Highly tannic, but so layered if you have the patience. Darker fruits, yet still some tart red cherry, lavender, rose petals, and ashy dryness. Complex, classic Barolo (from my limited experience). I’ll save my second bottle to see how it develops. — 2 months ago
This wine is more about the single-vineyard terroir than the fruits. It has earthy and mineral flavors. it opened up after an hour of decanting. I prefer the multi-vineyard Diamond Mountain Cabernet from this producer. — 2 days ago

Really fantastic Barolo! Paired it with a vodka sauce pasta dish and it showed well with and without the food. Would definitely revisit. — 9 days ago

Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of cherry, sage, tar, vanilla, and violet. Medium-plus body, with medium-plus tannins and high acidity. Lengthy finish. Meaty bouquet surprisingly similar to Northern Rhone Syrah. Rounded and plush. — a month ago

Density and fruit aplenty, but still too much obvious new oak. So much so that I felt it masked a lot of the fruit’s quality. Expensive for what it offered, and not for me. — 8 days ago
