Earth, dark cherry, dust, blackberry, red currant, and tar on the nose. Acid and dark red fruit tang up front. Tannins, baking spice, and subtle oak on the mid-palate. Cocoa, Luxardo cherry, tar, dark chocolate, & subtle tobacco and ash on the finish. This is a beautiful wine, on its own or with food. — 4 months ago
Deep ruby, and a nose redolent with aromas of plum, blackberry, black cherry, leather, forest floor and stony minerality. Plush, velvety tannins give the wine great body though it could use a touch more acidity to be outstanding. Really enjoyable and a long finish — a great bargain for this under-appreciated grape. — 7 months ago
