I’m scoring as is today, but I really think this inches upward a bit over the next 5-7yrs.
This fell victim to curiosity (as well as a ‘21 Modus Operandi UV-Laguna Pinot). I’ve had a few of Lato’s entry and mid-level offerings, but this was my first Pisoni from them. Loved it.
Profile wise, this is similar to Dumol (not as big as Aubert, but not a lean style either). A very pretty down-the-middle style. While the aromatics here were lovely (honeysuckle, faint lemon cream, citrus and sweet baking spices), the texture of this wine was a standout. Sports much more depth than initially expected (yellow fruits, peach, apricot, pink cotton candy, limestone)…not quite a lees-y style, but close, while remaining elegant and light on its feet (good acidity). Oak is there but plays a supporting role. For being so young, this was a supremely balanced wine. I need to consider buying more. — 2 years ago

In a word “Elegant,” 100% organically farmed Tempranillo from village of Laguardia, aged in barrels for nine months limiting the oak influence. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruit and subtle light spice. Palate, clean and fresh fruit flavors of cherry and sweet blackberry, very smooth with super fine velvet tannins. Long finish, complex ending bringing everything together. Outstanding about 1000 cases made. Don’t hesitate if you see a bottle. — 6 years ago
Situated on a picturesque site with rolling vineyards bordered by the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed.
Deep red with aromas of red berry fruit and sweet spices. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with tea, vanilla, cinnamon and pepper spices, with cola tones. Fine tannins with balanced acidity carry this rich wine to a lingering finish. Will age well for another decade. Nice! — 7 years ago
Massive, sexy fruit-forward Pinot Noir from Zio Tony vineyard in the heart of Laguna Ridge. Good vintages of this cuvée are on par with the Cohn in my opinion, and this might be my favorite one yet. On night 3 this really opened up and showed some brooding dark berries, cola and sandalwood, laced with earth and spice. Already quite layered and complex, but needs a year or two in Bottle to show more defined flavors. Big oak tannins are still prevalent. Outstanding effort from an unusually low yielding harvest, this wine has some serious future ahead of it. — 8 years ago

The bodega is located in the Carravacas estate (Laguardia) in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa. 100% Tempranillo and aged in 100% French Oak. Dark red with aromas of sweet Red berry fruits and beautiful floral spice. On the palate raspberry and blackberry flavors with vanilla spice and notes of cacao. Well balanced with lively acidity, soft tannins will only get better, lingering ending with sweet fruit and spice character. Nice! Tasting Sample! — 8 years ago
Big, tannic, concentrated, and ripe Tempranillo. First time having Artadi and this is what I've been lead to belief is the Artadi style. — 9 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
A blend from several vineyards, including Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Bright Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, vanilla and oak, aged on French oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with spice, ripe fruit and oaky tones. Very Nice! — 3 days ago
