Ripe and tasty, good tannin on the finish. Great deal too

Lighter and more driven by fruit than one would expect. The acid is there but the tanins are lower than traditional. Very approachable for new world wine drinkers but it doesn't show what is expected from a monte

Dark purple in color with a short purple rim.

On the nose cherries, black currants, oak, licorice, light vanilla, wood, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, light vegetables, cloves and mint.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, red currant, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, wood and light vanilla.

Medium on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This is a nice surprise. This Montepulciano is balanced with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Spicy and very easy to drink.

Needs 30 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins.

I paired it with Italian antipasto of meats, grilled vegetables and cheeses.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

85 points.

$13.

Solid montepulciano, but really nothing special. It worked.

2014 vintage.

Bright red fruit on the nose with wet earth backing it, maybe some cigar leaves too. The palate has juicy acidity which paired really well with a rack of lamb. On its own, it's acceptable. With food it shines.

Wow! I almost don't know what to say. A very tasteful and expressive red! From the nose to the notes it takes you all the way! A quality wine from Italy and I wouldn't expect less.

@Vinovolo in Oakland! Have I said how much Ilove this place? Black cherries. Berries. Rustic. Air is kind.
