Baron-Fuenté

Millésime Brut Champagne Blend 2009

9.1

First time trying the Baron-Fuente Millesime after their Reserve and it enjoying that quite a bit. This one needs a bit of time in bottle to show its better self than their N/V fresh.

The nose shows; macerated fruits of, green & golden apples, lemon, lime zest, well overripe pineapple, white peach and hints of grapefruit with pith. Lots of bread dough and yeastiness. Soft chalkiness & volcanic minerals, oyster shells, yellow florals & lilies with mixed greens.

The palate again delivers that bread dough & yeastiness. Macerated fruits of; green & golden apples, lemon, lime zest, well overripe pineapple, white peach and hints of grapefruit with pith. Lots of bread dough and yeastiness. Soft chalkiness & gritty volcanic minerals, saline, oyster shells, yellow florals & lilies with mixed greens. Good acidity and a well balanced & polished finish. This will deliver a little more with a 3-5 years in bottle.

Calafia

La Reina Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Interesting flavors and complexity which will only become better with time - 2015 vintage. Nice spice with amazing peppery nose. Dark blackberry fruit on palette. Soft but flavorful tannins on the finish. Great with BBQ, any red meat off smoker, or Spanish dish. Could be best in another 3-5 years. — 5 years ago

Ca' Di Mat

Fuente de los Huertos Garnacha 2018

So wonderful, the epitome of crunchy.
Smells like the best RED lollipops, mixed with cranberries, strawberries, trees, red liquorice, delish.
Cà di Mat: The House of Fools.
Wonderful wines by Italians in Spain.
Madrid A.O.C.
If you drank this as glou-glou, you’d miss the immensity. It’s earthy and mouth filling without being heavy.
Lovely.

Bodegas Reina de Castilla

Rueda Verdejo 2015

Bright pale greenish yellow color with intense aromas of papaya and passion fruit with herbal notes of fennel and sage; as well as a bit of beeswax. In the mouth is super fresh high acidity, that begins with tropical fruit and ends with a medium long herbal and mineral finish. 13.5% alcohol. Everything I want a Verdejo to be! — 5 years ago
