Last magnum and for a basic amarone did not disappoint. Served for wigilia and complimented the 12 dishes nicely, blackfruit prune hint of cherry coke and chocolate. Smooth tannins and great length. Really nice. — 6 years ago
Light and crisp. Not too dry. Good alone or as a mimosa/ Bellini. — 8 years ago

Tonight we are enjoying some wine from the island of Sicily. A 2012 Puritani Etna Rosso from Azienda Valenti Vini 🍷 The #nerellomascalese grapes from this bottle were planted in 2004. As a literature lover I must share th story behind the bottle's name: 'The father-son team of Giovanni and Alessandro Valenti have embarked upon
the journey to produce the very best
wines from their homeland of Mount Etna
in Sicily. Being avid lovers of literature and
music, the names of their wines reflect
this passion. Enrico IV, Henry IV (Enrico
IV) is an Italian play by Luigi Pirandello;
Puritani – I puritani (The Puritans) is an
opera in three acts by Vincenzo Bellini;
Norma is an opera in two acts by
Vincenzo Bellini. Poesia is Poetry in Italian.' Cheers to Italy! 🇮🇹 — 6 years ago

Bright red. Sweet spice, ripe red cherry, licorice and flowers on the nose and in the mouth. Smooth and bright, and though not exactly the last word in concentration or complexity, this is downright irresistible in its juicy, fruity appeal. Podere Brizio recently changed ownership and now belongs to Dievole, the Chianti Classico producer (Podere Brizio’s previous owner, Roberto Bellini, is the man who sold the Chiesa di Santa Restituta estate to Gaja, who renamed it Pieve di Santa Restituta). Business in the front, party in the back Friulan style. Intense aromatics of sage, beeswax, kiwi, fennel pollen, yellow blossom, honeydew, hay. On the palate, a little peach Bellini action (ripe peach yet never sweet). Really complex, lovely wine. Needs San Danielle prosciutto to make it super special. — 2 years ago

Fruity for a chianti but good. “Perfectly accepable would drink again” -Henry — 6 years ago
Super sweet, candied fruit flavor. Perfect by itself — 8 years ago
For the price, this is an excellent wine. Vintage 2013, went very well with spaghetti and hand-packed meatballs. Also enjoyed with sharp cheddar. Easy tannins, very enjoyable. Will purchase 2 and hold. Finding a nice Sangiovese in the US isn’t always easy. Salute!
