Light, good general wine — 4 years ago
Have posted previous tasting notes on this wine and vintage. Owned by Melbourne barrister Greg Melick. A couple of years ago I remember banter between @TheSkip and @Bill Bender about the name. If Bill ever becomes a winemaker he can’t take Pressing Matters as already spoken for. This was a stellar Riesling, one of the best for a while. Mid Lemon in colour with absolute clarity. Lime and Lemon flavours with plenty of acidity. Incredible intensity. A beautiful dry Riesling from the Coal River in Tasmania, cruising at 12 years with more life ahead. Traces of paraffin/kerosene on the nose. — 6 years ago
Needs to breath, but picks up speed after 30 minutes. The restrained red fruit eventually shines through, but gives the stage to scorched earth and clay, savory herbs, underbrush, dried flowers, and spice box. The balanced and playful acid and tannin banter stretches the fruit out across the entire length of the wine. A deceptively high quality wine that requires close attention, and really delivers on a cerebral level. — 8 years ago
Allow time to breathe before drinking. Opens with VA and Brett but does simmer down with some air and the rumblings of well-intentioned banter. Although there was some delicate and welcomed stone fruit on the nose and palate, it was slightly lacking in an acidity that was needed to round-out and deliver the flavors. Finishes flat, on the roof of the mouth. Too shy to be judged and exposed by other tastebuds, possibly. I do like this producer though, so I’ll certainly be returning for more. And, well, as natural wines go, like a bad piece of fruit, it could have just been this bottle. — 4 years ago
Nice and pleasant, not much body but easy to drink. — 6 years ago
Perfect summer night and it was a perfect summer wine. The conversation was flowing from topic to topic as different subjects and guests moved about and much like that ease of banter the wine was delicious and offered more than just a conversation starter. It hung around and added dimension to the party but, like a good guest, knew when to leave. — 9 years ago

No formal notes - too much banter with the kids. More densely packed than I am used to for a Northern Rhone Syrah. I recall meaty notes with spice and earth. More full bodied than medium bodied. A mouthful of flavour with a long future. Rounded tannins. — 3 years ago
