Dynamite Chardonnay. Stone and tropical fruit. Generous and loaded with mineral character on a lengthy finish. Pairs great with hearty banter with Brian Talley. — 10 years ago
Ethereal earthen notes, like an old dusty leather book, aged tobacco spice and still some dark chocolate covered sour cherries, subtle smoky meat character, still juicy, holding onto fine-grained tannins, acid is refreshing and zippy even at 28 years old. Long finish of tobacco, leather, dried violets and chalky mineral character. — 10 years ago
This: a 1985 Le Corton Grand Cru from Maison Bouchard Père & Fils. Sour cherries and overripe strawberries, Mediterranean spice, tobacco, leather, black olives, mushrooms, savory, meaty, like bacon-wrapped roasted cherries, iron-like minerality and a balsamic note on a long, long finish. — 9 years ago
