Dense Ruby in colour. All the classic Cabernet descriptors - Blackberry cassis, black olive and of course Mint - textbook Coonawarra Cabernet. On the palate such purity - ground cocoa, call it dark chocolate, berry fruits, touch of cedar. This wine at 10 years of age, whilst only young, and will live at least another decade, is drinking beautifully now. Made by the talented Sue Bell who was the Dux of the 2007 Len Evans Tutorial ( a handpicked group of only 12 - outstanding winemakers, somms and other full time wine professionals. Aubert de Villaine every year generously donates a mixed dozen of DRC, such was his friendship with Len Evans and James Halliday). Needless to say Sue Bell has one of the best palates in the country. A few years ago she was a guest Judge at the Toowoomba Wine Show where I often judge. I was in awe of her knowledge and her palate. On the strength of this wine I will order her 2015 Cabernet. — 4 years ago
My fave in special edition. Palates in a awe all around. With Samantha, Sabrina, Panos, Sammy and Tere for Sam’s Marbella bday celebration. Tuesday pre-festivities. — 5 years ago
MJ’s cellar is awe-inspiring. Once again, an absolutely pristine old wine from his cold, cold cellar - a 1980’s Krug Grande Cuvée! A first for me and gosh it blew me away. Still so fresh and energetic, yet rich and concentrated, all intensified by time. Complex aromas of orange peel, dried apricot, dehydrated apples, lemon oil, marzipan, and a touch of sherry. Full-bodied, textured, and deep on the palate, with mellow honeyed notes mind-bogglingly juxtaposed against zesty citrus notes; some cream and sweet spices, high acidity, and heaps of salinity. Gosh was this good. — 2 years ago
This truly is an awe inspiring wine. Big and bold as is typical of Turley but the 13 rattlesnake ridge Zin is in a league of its own. Lots of slathered blueberry but also has a flavor profile that can be best described as an old school Grenache based chateauneuf du pape. Just a beautiful wine. — 3 years ago
Once again, time to jump in the wayback machine....Decant 1 hour (decent amount of chunky sediment). An awe-inspiring dark garnet color...little bricking after all these years! On the nose: some barn yard funk starting to blow off, wet earth, smoke, floral, cigar box. Taste: black cherry, pencil lead, vanilla, with a little ending tannic kick...not fading after +30 years!!! — 5 years ago
A complete smoke show and unanimously the star of the flight. It’s no wonder the demand for these wines have skyrocketed. They are singular expressions with unmatched purity and character. The visual, nose and palate effortlessly command attention. Aromas and flavors unique from anything else in the Southern Rhône. The experience is a bit like going to a Billie Eilish concert with only basic knowledge of her music or persona, only to leave in awe because you just witnessed a once in a generation talent doing something undeniably special. Like Billie, a wine of character, authenticity and showmanship. — 2 years ago
So much qpr, always in such awe of how charming the wines of good bojo producers are after just a few years of cellaring. This is not the best vintage of lapalu, but still drinking very nice if you like that rustic and very old school aromas of leather and stable, almost old brdx in the brettiness. Nice night cap, wish i had more — 2 years ago

Some slight shock and awe after tasting this 27 year old Zin, one of the first made by Ehren Jordan at Turley. Translucent, ochre colored with a big nose of creamy dark berries and vanilla. Surprisingly light on its feet while being super-rich on the palate (and carrying 17% abv). Almost a port-like finish. Few signs of age other than the slight tint and concentration. Outstanding! — 5 months ago
