It's Blanton's, proofed up to 103. Being a single barrel, Blanton's is consistently good but not consistently great. This bottle is well above average. It smells and tastes like something from the Van Winkle bourbon lineup. Dark cherry, apricot, leather, cigar box. Much more pleasing than last years bottle. I thought the Gold used to be in a skinnier 700ml bottle, but this is 750ml. Maybe I'm losing it 🤔 Listening to Willie Nelson — 18 days ago
Hey Norman! Similar to the cask strength, just not quite as hairy. I think my bottle of cask strength is proofed at 114. I usually put droplets of Kentucky limestone water in it to proof it back down to regular Blanton's 😁
Not for the faint of heart at 113 proof. This one gets an ice cube. Dusty and earthy, dried apricot, camphor, and big oak. Toffee on the finish. Watching the Love Boat — 22 days ago
