Fresh, herb, citrus, green apple and peach. Stimulated acidity! Allegrini Soave 22 @2860, Enoteca JH, 240113-240124 — 2 years ago
Feast tasting Nov 2020. Drank w/ JackD & Caitlin Jan 27, 2021. 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot. Such a beautiful nose. Red fruit, cedar. Equally pleasing on the palate w/ fruit, leather, & earth. Love the Allegrini wines, and this Super Tuscan blend is a winner. Will buy more! — 5 years ago
Dry, concentrated, and very spicy. Paired very well with pizza during the Super Bowl. — 6 years ago

Sept 28, 2019. J2’s 5th bonus year celebration. TW Concierge offering April 2017. Purchased this and the Amarone. This is s solid Ripasso. Tart cherries, of course but not overpowering. Smooth, no pepper, hint of chocolate. 70% Corvina, 30% Rondinella. I believe Villa Cavarena is an Allegrini family label, from their Co-op? Definitely Allegrini quality and for <$20/bottle, what’s not to like??? — 7 years ago
Dec 30, 2017. Volpara. Purchased at Allegrini Villa dellaTorre in Fumane. From their Bolgheri vineyard. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. Black fruit, vegetal. Well balanced. So lovely. — 9 years ago
Light and bright. Great acid. Nice cherry notes. Would be a great food wine. — a month ago
A blend of Corvina Veronese 45%, Corvinone 45%, Rondinella 5% & Oseleta 5%, deep Ruby with aromas of dried dark fruits, spice and herb, about 120 days of appassimento. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with notes of fig, cacao, flint and mineral tones. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long spicy finish. Will continued to get better with age. Sustainable. — 5 months ago

#AgedWineTuesday.
Ruby in color with a wide and dirty brick rim.
Showing a wonderful nose with lots of earth notes.
On the palate, sweet cherries, over ripen plums, raisins, dried fruits, chocolates, citrus, tobacco, coffee, peppercorn, earth, black tea, wet leaves and herbs.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Nice tangy finish, yet not very long, with fine grained tannins.
I did not decant it, but let it open up in the bottle. I really liked the nose, after 30 minutes of airtime.
Thank you John for sharing this with me.
Nice to see how this lasted so well, even though it is from a bad vintage.
This 39 year old is not at its peak any longer, but still very drinkable. I believe it was way better 10 years ago. Lucky to have the bottle all for myself, as no one else liked it. 😃
Also, great to see that the alcohol is kind of low (for an Amarone).
Aged for 2 years in wood barrels.
14% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
