Holy F! Seriously, the 2010 vintage is phenomenal!! The nose is sultry, dark, jammy blackberries, vanilla, and new leather. The wine explodes in your mouth (seriously, kaboom!) and just lingers on and on. Fantastic tannic gription. Rich, jammy overripe plums give way to blackberry, pepper and finally a mellow black cherry and cola note. This seems to be at or near its peak. It is fan-freaking-tastic!!! Yum x 10! — 7 years ago
Saline, citrus, stone. Very light lemon yellow color… light to med in weight…lean, powerful, laser-sharp, and focused… this wine needs time ( perhaps quite a bit) to settle. A touch of match strike reduction…I like the wine, but….on this evening tended to overpower the roast halibut and mashed celeriac. — 3 years ago
Personally, I wouldn't pay the recommended retail price of AUD280 for this champagne, but at half that, it was well worth what it delivered. Open from the get go and certainly complex, I believe this would get better with time.
Intense bouquet of pear, ginger, tobacco, brioche, marzipan, white florals, and fresh herbs. The palate was soft, but not necessarily broad. There's enough acidity, but I would have liked more cut. Technically, it's balanced though. Lots of yellow stone fruits and nutty notes. Finishes quite long with smoked cream and honey elements.
Left some to taste over the next two days and it seems air brought more focus to the fruit in the nose - apple, pear, and peach. The palate had a more obvious citric zing, but the notes were generally the same. A nice wine and one I wouldn't pick Dom over. — 5 years ago
Freaking juicy delicious. Bit of everything in balance, stone fruit, creamy, but some mineral, some crisp. Like a great Riesling x great Chardonnay. — 7 years ago
Sea salt, fresh grass, pine, dill, Indian spices with a bit of earthy note as if you are in a cave or an old stone house
Muscat but not painfully sweet - finally — 3 years ago
A blend of Treixadura, Giselle & Loureiro. Expressive on the nose with yellow stone fruit, moist rocks & moss and a saline whiff. Surprisingly rich on the palate yet beautifully balanced by the juicy acidity and asking, mineral bite.
This has surprising depth & precision. An absolutely beautiful match with fish (pot roasted red gurnard)!! — 4 years ago
