Coteaux du Languedoc Pic St. Loup Syrah Blend 2012

2012 vintage on 14.10.18
Enjoyed with unexpected but warm welcomed guest. As wine with the pasta as without great drinking pleasure. Mocca, chocolate and coffee nose. Smooth and sweet tastes. Tannins still there but not disturbing. THANKS for bringing it along Berry!

First monthly fancy wine purchase. Not very bold but very tasty. — 11 days ago

Chateau La Rogue

Pic Saint Loup 2018

Full of minerals and terroir. A full bodied rounded tannin finish. Ideal for meat. This wine opened into luscious oily taste extravaganza. Loved every drop. Even wished with the anchovies and carrot cake. The Barn fur second bday dinner. 2015 vintage. 2018 September. — 23 days ago

La Closerie du Pic

Pic Saint Loup Red Blend

Strong Puech. Very well done. Makes me wanna taste more wines of that region. But nothing absolutely unforgettable when compared to similarly priced Bordeaux. — 6 days ago

Domaine Long-Depaquit (Albert Bichot)

Les Blanchots Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2009

Smells like fresh baked focaccia right now. Palate is tart yellow apple...needs way more air. Notes to be updated.

After a 4 hr decanting the nose has dropped out, only faint pear exists now. Palate got confusing also, almost not there, warm yellow apple skin, warmed tropical fruit. Likely we'll revisit this later tonight, or tomorrow.

Don’t see that everyday. Felt like it showed more alcohol with the age. Still quite alive at 20yrs though with medium length and concentration. — 15 days ago

Vieilles Vignes Alsace Pinot Auxerrois 2016

Pretty, subtle nose. Great intensity on the palate with pear, almond, honey and chamomile flavors. There’s a distinct bitter apple skin component to the finish, an unusually phenolic character. I very much enjoy the interplay of fruit, spice and herbs but I would advise another year in bottle in the hope that the tannins soften a bit. If drinking now, be prepared to serve with charcuterie, intense cheeses and the like. — 22 days ago

— 15 days ago

Cent-Vignes Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Medium Ruby color with lovely sold of raspberry, cherry and cranberry. The cherry is well defined on the palate with a bit of violet and dried orange peel. Good length and enough acidity to pair with food and still be charming — 16 days ago
