Lemon, lime, but more prominent, yellow apple, stonefruit, physalis and pineapple. Complex nose, very aromatic, very much a sense of sunripe fruit. The acidity is not the highest of Riesling’s, but it’s there. Big old barrels leave no oaky flavours here. Either fully integrated at this stage, or maybe there was never much to begin with. — 3 months ago
Nose is very forward with wood shavings, white cherries, peach and apricot. Very ripe and exotic. Palate is scintillating. Awesome cleansing acidity and so pure. Forward palate as well but less so than the nose. Superb structure and sap. Almost tannic on the finish. Luscious and long with white peach and tangerine. Nose with air is hinting at secondary. Really elegant and with air finesse is developing. Long and concentrated. — 4 days ago
A stunning wine. One of the great GG’s of Germany and easily a top 5 Rheingau GG. Soaring aromas of elegant minerals, dash of brown sugar to add complexity, spice notes and sea breeze. So complex and ethereal. Palate is structured, dry and super intense. Wow is this salty and structured. Tighter than the 19 and showing much younger than the 19 did in August. But so precise and stunning. Needs air. Glad I brought another bottle. So dense and concentrated while being light on its feet. What a finish that’s almost tannic. — 5 months ago
