This Chilean Cab has an earthy, rustic nose full of dark berries, leather and sage. The palate shows the blackberry up front and leaves an herbal trail along the lengthy finish. The tannins are firm, but not raspy and the acidity is vibrant enough to promote plenty of lip-smacking. One of my favorite breweries in the south. I know, I know, Sweetwater in Atlanta’s great and all, but Crooked Can outta Orlando is something else.
Their seasonal Oktoberfest pictured on the right hits all the right Autumn notes.
Purple Cow to the left of that has got nice açaí, blueberry, and licorice notes.
Down the line, the Pia Kawa is a perfect tart pineapple sipper.
Finally, the Mellow Step, probably the favorite of the flight, has got the perfect amount of hops balanced with a saltwater taffy mango afternote.

Bought for $40.00, normally $125.00 and still $125.00 winery direct. They’ve gone the way of a paper label & shorter cork. But for 1/3 the price I’ll take the miner changes. Medium body compared to older vintages. If I paid release I would be disappointed but for $40.00 its definitely worthwhile K&L notes, Beau Vigne's heralded, rising star winemaker Julien Fayard, originally from France, has worked in esteemed cellars such as Lafite-Rothschild and Smith-Haut-Lafitte on his way to becoming Philippe Melka's Director of Winemaking for many iconic wineries across Napa Valley. The 2018 "Cult" Cab is Beau Vigne's estate fruit from a high elevation vineyard 1,400 feet up on Atlas Peak and another closer to the Silverado Trail.
Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cult is a blend of both of the estate vineyards: Stags Ridge and Soda Canyon, with 15% blended from Rutherford and Oakville. It was aged in 100% new oak. — 5 days ago
The red wine of our visit to Sonoma from the comfort of home in Santa Barbara. Spicy aromatics for a Sonoma pinot. Clear ruby color. Mostly raspberry aroma with clove and nutmeg. Moderate tannins and finish of spicy compote. Not quite jammy but more fruit than terroir. Does it show place? The flavor palate seems confused or lost. The flavors suggest a central coast pinot, was it lost in translation? Or just failed geography? Not to worry, the wine is solid and enjoyable. Maybe its the drinker who is confused? Peach cobbler, caramel-apple, baked pear tartlet, pine nettle, sweet corn, dried red cherry, cedar-on-grill, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, chilies, generous oak that includes acorns, crisp vanilla cookie make the nose. Hot initially, with oregano oil, cinnamon and tobacco. Revisit yields subtleties, including lemon oil, grapefruit pith, orange peel, arabica, eucalyptus, apricot, red chilies, Mexican cigar spices, and peppercorn dust. Cinnamon-oak builds to a crescendo of resinous might in a cloud of foundry smoke. Allspice appears with oregano following hot on its trail.
