Le nez sur une grosse corbeille de fruit, citron poire, pomme épices. Bouche sur les fruits avec des notes miellées, vive pleine de peps finale sur une élégante amertume. — 9 months ago

This was served during my annual WWC hosting. Typical format of sparkler, three whites, four reds, one dessert, all served blind.
Marcel Deiss’s son is the winemaker. 50 Pinot Gris/40 Gewurtztraminer/ 10 Riesling. 100% whole cluster pressed for the Riesling and Gewurtztraminer, partially de-stemmed Pinot Gris. Macerated for 9 months in different amphorae.
I don’t know how you attach a score to this. Undoubtedly an orange wine, which I normally don’t drink. In color, it’s almost a pink tinge of orange. Aromatically, this could be Alsatian Muscat. Incredibly floral with a perception of sweetness. Strawberries romanoff, kiwi, orange blossom up front but the fruit fades to a more mineral/less sweet profile with great acidity. Very unique and worth seeking out more. — 4 months ago
First birthday wine for Tiva’s 30th! The nose is prominent and perfumes, with notes of fresh leather, velvet, red clay, cigar smoke, blueberry jam, overripe plums. Medium bodied, with a MEATY palate. The finish is longgg, with prominent bloody notes, iron, vanilla, charcoal, dark red cherries slimy velvet with a complex lingering finish. We’ll layered, The cabernet shows up first, Merlot second, with PV dancing in the background. Really a great entry to the Latour line and does not show like an 8 year old wine! — 8 months ago
I can’t wait to try more vintages of this one! The aromas are a bit muted with age but it resonates with honeyed clementine, WA Apple notes and a leesy mouthfeel. I’m all about anything Alsace! — 9 months ago
