Tierra De Zamora, Castilla Y León

Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León Verdejo 2015

A six-year-old old vine Verdejo. Tastes way more aged than I expected… Dried mango, apricot, strong minerality, salinity, Marcona almond, caramel, dried herbs as well. High levels of linear acidity, full bodied but not fat. 14.5%. Grippy phenolics coating the mouth. — a month ago

Telmo Rodríguez

Pegaso Granito Vino de la Tierra Castilla y León Garnacha 2012

I had a hard time believing this was a Granoche. The flavors I come associate with that of an earthy and or beige us and somewhat forest floor kind of floral in nature. This was Jamie and hot and violets in the sun and everything like that. Very surprising but kind of makes sense coming from such a warm area. Good and expressive flavors, opened well, could’ve use a bit more structure but overall a very delicious wine. — 4 months ago

Vino de la Tierra Castilla y León Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra Red Blend 2010

Telmo Rodríguez, the Spanish winemaker, aka the driving winemaker, because of his multiple estates across Spain, produces this Garnacha from Gredos in Castilla y León. A medium-bodied, granat red coloured wine, with red and black berries, but also a second layer of licorice, herbs some tobacco. Very soft tannines and a long aftertaste. Great wine! — 2 months ago
