Thorn-Clarke

Shotfire Barossa Shiraz 2019

3.1. Dark purple Shiraz, very heavy fruit to start, with some spices. Mediocre on the mid-palette. On sale for $15.99, regularly $19.99. — 3 days ago

Château Clarke

Listrac-Médoc Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Very nice, classic Bordeaux. Good fruit, mellow but present tannins, fairly fresh for 10 years. Still more years to go. — 9 months ago

See previous notes: squirreled a bunch of this away from my wine selling days - holding steady, in fact, showed me some really gorgeous mint and some feral meat notes which were in addition to the usual generous fruit & spice. Miles to go — 2 months ago

Eternity Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot 2014

Clark Claudon Vineyards Eternity Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Dark purple in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, herbs, peppercorn, chocolates, light earth and tobacco leaf.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Rich, opulent and spicy.

Loved the palate more than the nose, and this doesn't happen too often for me.

This 9 year old is showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. A fabulous wine.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.

Robert Parker 93 points.

A great wine to have all by itself. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

95 points.

$160.
