Huge Cali cab. Perfect match for the product off the grill. Well balanced with a huge long finish. — 15 days ago

Araujo Estate

Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

This wine was our unanimous winner in our cult Cali blind tasting held back in 2012 against some big hitters, Dominus, Shrader, Shafer Hillside etc. Med bodied in an opulent style with good balance & length showing notes of blackberry, creme de cassis, forest floor, graphite, licorice & violet. — 2 years ago

Gorman Winery

The Evil Twin Cabernet-Syrah Blend 2013

Decanted for 30 minutes. Big dark fruit, bbq grilled meat, a touch of charcoal, and vanilla. Good but definitely a level below the Shafer Relentless in quality. — 3 years ago

Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend 2005

Lots of fun bottles were popped at Al’s hosting this past weekend for his birthday celebration. All were served blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 6 reds and 1 dessert wine.

One of those wines where everything was working in harmony. Supremely balanced. Youthful. Came across very herbal and Bordeaux like aromatically at first before the sweet and ripe fruit pushed forward. Violets, graphite, underripe red, blue and black fruits with minerals on the nose. Similar to the PM Les Pavots and the Shafer HSS, it started showing sweet tannins alongside dark coco, nutmeg, juicy blueberries and blackberries and a tightly wound finish. Tons of life here. I was between Napa cab or left bank Bordeaux.

Exceptionally balanced. Rich fruit with layered mouth fell. Med/long finish with excellent depth. More complexity than the shafer but not as balanced. — 2 years ago
