Had the 2018 with Kristen and Al, super good light Pinot — a year ago
This wine is all about black olive...never had a wine that has such clarity of flavour in one particular direction. That being said it definately not one dimensional and there is so much to enjoy. We had this with lamb but it could go excellently with anything with tomatoes or even heavier fish like cod or monkfish. — a month ago

From the winery:
“Our Estate produced Teroldego is a rarely grown grape in the U.S. originating from the Northern Italian Tyrolean area of Trentino-Alto Adige. This big and rich inky dark red wine is lively, exhibits fruity intriguing flavors of dark berry, aromatic wood spice with a finish of structured tannins and bright acidity. Vinified and fermented in techniques similar to our Syrah this Teroldego is aged in 25% new American oak. The alcohol content is 14.2%. “ $36.00 I tasted the 2014 and it was a big & rich wine, excellent after cellaring 7 years. — 2 years ago

Popped and poured, consumed over two days. Consistent throughout. The 2021 Mataro, San Benito County pours a deep ruby color moving toward magenta rim and a near opaque core. Medium viscosity with very light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine explodes with fresh, perfectly ripe bramble fruits: black berries and raspberries, purple flowers, black pepper, crushed rocky earth with limestone minerals and subtle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. The tannins are almost silky…but sneaky. Confirming the notes from the nose and the raspberries are even more obvious right now. The finish is long. This is an awesome Mataro that’s drinking really well right now and I anticipate a bright future too. Drink now through 3036. — a month ago
