A lark pick up at Total Wine, because I'm a sucker for Cabernet Franc and the low ABV of 12.6% made me think that this bottle may deliver more than just new world fruit and spice. Established by a retired surgeon, the winery experimented with many varietals until settling on those that do best in the Puget Sound AVA (e.g. Madeleine Angevine, Siegerrebe, Pinot Noir). This Cab Franc was sourced from the Yakima Valley AVA though, known for producing high quality WA wine. Not much else I can tell you about the winemaker, but the grape itself is a wonderful pairing wine as it's acid helps to cut through fatty meals and the tannins are not too assertive even when young. Paired this one with a spicy eggplant and green bean coconut curry! I wish I had more! ~$18 | #cabernetfranc #yakimavalley #mountbakervineyards
On the eyes: Bright, orange-cherry red color, clear with light stain, light tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: Cherry with hints of black currant and raspberry. Crisp dried leaf notes rounded by gravel. Med- alcohol.
On the tongue: med soft tannins, med alcohol, med acid, med body, nice and round in the mouth. Peppery dried cherry and raspberry, forest floor with petrol notes and tobacco. Nice long pleasant finish. Decant and enjoy this one if you can find it! — 10 years ago
Enjoyed this crisp refreshing bottle with my cruise crew moored on the hook in Jarrell Cove in South Puget Sound. Went so well with Souvlaki chicken kabobs, rice pilaf and garlic lemon asparagus 😃 — 5 years ago
Delicious! Actually has a lot of similarity to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc. I’m not an expert, yet... but if I blind tasted this I would have guessed a New Zealand Sauv Blanc. Notes of Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin Orange, Green Apple, Lychee, Pear, Nectarine with hints of Slate and some Salinity. Low alcohol at 11% and good acidity with a medium finish. — 8 years ago
60/20/20 blend Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault. A classic wine for a very smoky early autumn-like day in Puget Sound. Light extracted dark red in color, excellent clarity. Floral and red fruit notes in nose. Peach, cranberry, cherry and later tutti frutti flavors in mouth with anise and minerality in finish, slight skin astringency. Dry to off dry. Cherry and anise aftertaste. So much flavor... — 8 years ago

Very delicious. Light, crisp, and refreshing. Tasting lemon, pear, apricot, and fresh-mown grass. — a year ago

Again another super vintage of this wine. Refreshing crisp melon notes and slight mineral aftertones. — 6 years ago
Low acidity wine with pleasant sweetness belying a clean finish. Honeysuckle and melon flavors with a light citrus finish. — 8 years ago
A relatively low degree of residual sugar gives this raspberry wine a vibrancy not common in dessert wines or fruit wines in general. Will stand well on it’s own as an after-dinner drink or paired with a red-fruited dessert. — 8 years ago
Sweet. Very tasty wine — 9 years ago

Purchased from LastBottle.com mid-August of 2024. Crisp, refreshing, very light #mullerthurgau - lemon, white citrus, faint floral notes. Interesting all-glass closure on the bottle. — a year ago
