Well integrated fruit, nice balance, plenty of substance to hold up to a slab of meat. — 4 years ago
Nose has ripe plum, cedar cigar box, lavender, dried blueberries, dried black currant, licorice candy, mashed black cherries with light alcohol heat (assumed from the Zinfandel).
Palate has over-ripe plum, blackberry, milk chocolate, granite dust, violets, cocoa powder, ripe blackberries with still present tannins and a long finish. Spectacular. Drink Magnum's on this 2020-2030, when in proper storage. Based on this evenings performance, I suspect this will be in prime enjoyment 2024+.
1500ml bottle bought from the winery in October 2008; a blend of 58% Zinfandel, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon.
A perfect pairing to amazing seasoned and grilled NY Strip steaks from Kinderhook Farm (Valatie, NY), pulled at 125° and will rested afterwards, barely needed knives this evening! — 6 years ago
Smooth and yummy. — 9 years ago
Smooth. Oak. Rich. Velvet. — 9 years ago
Really good blend. Took me only two decades to try this Duckhorn offshoot. Plush and mellow tannins. — 3 months ago
A very good red blend! Cherry, plum and blackberry notes. Spicy like a good zin. Hearty like a good cab. I truly good bottle. I would highly reccommend. — 3 years ago
Not quite as good as the previous vintage, but still delicious. Such a smooth drinking wine. — 5 years ago
Drank this vintage with good friends who are constantly introducing bottles who are part of the duckhorn delivery club or whatever subsidiary duckhorn has. They opened it at the end of dinner. Honestly this was bottle number 2 after 3 NEIPAs already onboard. It was very smooth, fruity, incredibly balanced and I dont think any of us even put our glasses down while enjoying. What a blast! — 7 years ago
Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
60% Zinfandel, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, for the 2005 vintage blend. This label features Redhead ducks, which we have commonly seen occupying our beachfront, not this year unfortunately.
Nose has vanilla bean, pipe tobacco, ripe cherry, ripe blackberry, prune (light) and over-ripe plum.
Palate has rich blackberry & cherry, oak plank, chalk (light), dried strawberry, ripe plum and raisin (light).
Beautifully long finish and tannins are long gone; this bottle is at the end of its life, also our last bottle of this vintage. Always interesting to see how long they will hold. The labels have always been a favorite of ours. — 7 years ago
Delicious!! Drinkable and complex. Fruit notes, but not sweet. Was AMAZING with short rib :-) — 9 years ago

A blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Zinfandel, with aromas of dark fruit, spice and cedar notes, aged for 28 months in 100% French oak, 60% new. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with herbs, cacao, pepper and spice with underlying gentle sweetness. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and herb spice. — 2 years ago
Needs some time to open up and reveal itself. Once it did, it was a new experience with each sip. Bramble and dark fruit like a Zinfandel, but with added structure from the cab sauvignon. A very intriguing wine. — 6 years ago
A nice blend though Paraduxx and others exceed this IMHO. October 2019. — 7 years ago
On 12/14/18 at Madison’s recommended by Jaime. A lovely, balanced, full bodies Zinfandel!! — 8 years ago
Valentine's Day 2018 ❤️💝
Just hitting the decanter now, inky red-black, a beauty.
The 2004 is 65% Zinfandel, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot.
Nose still has a little alcohol to it, but it seems to be dissipating, otherwise really noting violets and dried red fruits. Palate has that wonderful mocha/chocolate aspect that seems to start showing in aged Zinfandel. Some tannins still exist in this tonight, so we'll see how it goes in the next hour or so and come back tomorrow. Generally, I am happy with its development over the years. — 9 years ago

Brand is always solid up and down lineup. The “mid” range bottles are good and well priced. — a month ago
