So, who knew Mount Langi Ghiran had a small block in a north-facing vineyard of Sangiovese, lovely cherry and spice aromas and flavors, lovely, pure fruit, great acid and balance, medium-long finish, very nice Sangiovese, went great with our prosciutto-based pizza tonight — not exported, tiny production, I was told, but super pure Sangiovese, and a screaming bargain to boot (at Cellar Door pricing)!! — 2 years ago

Dense dark crimson in colour. Aromas of blackberry, pepper, and a whiff of charcuterie. On the palate much the same descriptors of blackberry and black pepper, medium plus bodied, finishing with persistent smooth tannins. Not as fruit driven as some top Australian Shiraz but then again should be compared with a top Shiraz from the Grampians district like Mount Langhi Ghiran “Langi “ where I would point the latter slightly higher.- both at a similar price. Tasted 57 weeks later on 4th February 2022 with similar notes - hint of tar. Pretty solid in this warm vintage. — 5 years ago

Very floral and perfumed, with lovely violet aromas and flavors, very supple and nicely balanced, more depth than the Mt. Langhi Ghiran Heathcote, well worth the US$6 at our local Grocery Outlet!! — a year ago

This is Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the Grampians (the region where Mount Langhi Ghiran is grown), mostly rich darkfruit aromas and flavors, Grenache shows late as well as some lovely acidity, there is a clear cool climate edge to this (not rich, thick and syrupy like the Mitolo), which in turn makes it such a refreshing GSM blend, I really like this a lot!! — 2 years ago

One of my favourite Australian Shiraz blends for a long time. Back when I bought this it was $95 but now unfortunately about double that. Deep Ruby in colour. Aromas of Spice, pepper and red fruits. Medium weight palate of cherry, plum and a touch of aniseed. The palate might be medium weight but the intensity is medium ++ which makes it one of Australia’s best cool climate Shiraz. From the ancient soils of the Grampians. From a drinking window this will still be drinking well leading up to 2030. — 5 years ago
