Mongeard Mugneret

Fixin Pinot Noir 2017

Ripe raspberry nose with more delicate raspberry on the palate. Incredibly smooth and supple. It's complex, with a bit of vanilla and more ripe fruits. — 16 days ago

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2017

Entry level Chardonnay from this domaine. Nice poolside wine. Easy drinking, round and silky — 2 years ago

Les Fondemens Fixin Pinot Noir

Some earth and a restrained fruit. Tannic and awkward on the finish. Very nice, however. — 3 years ago

Cuvée 1917 Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2017

Beautiful! The Vosne Romanee remains my favourite of the different Mongeards Mugnerets I had over the last weeks — a month ago

Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2009

What a treat! Red fruited and earthy. Elegant. Good concentration. Unfortunately, as with most red Burgundy at the 1er and Grand Cru level, difficult to justify the cost. On this evening, it was worth it though. — 3 months ago

Bourgogne Vosne-Romanée Alliance Des Terroirs Pinot Noir 2013

Banger for sure - lighter mouthfeel than expected from VR (which in this case was preferable). Both ripe and baked r d fruit, spice and mushrooms — 4 years ago

Domaine Fourrier

Vieille Vigne Les Gruenchers Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Beautiful violet and rose petal aromatics. Multiple layers of floral notes and red fruits gliding in and out. Once again, touch of iron that made think that the village was from Gevrey, but could only think of two producers who make such elegant GC: Fourrier and Mugneret Gibourg. The floral quality and lack of candy notes left me with the former. Guessed Fourrier GC VV 2014 due to the relatively short finish (fooled by the vintage) but sappy tannins. — 4 years ago
