Mongeard Mugneret

Vieille Vigne Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Very pretty ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate and complex.

Showing red currants, cherries, earth, light oak, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee and black pepper.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a beautiful Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Elegant and rich.

This 9 year old from the great 2015 vintage is still young, and needs many years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking beautifully.

Would be nice to revisit it in 10 years, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.

Very enjoyable and really yummy. A great wine to have all by itself, but good with food too.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses and had it by the pool.

93 points.

Les Chaignots Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Love these wines. 2016 is a beautiful rendition, rich, spicy, and mineral, layered with oak framed vibrant fruit, sweet spices, violets and game, with a seductive, velvety and expansive palate with fine grained tannins. Drinking beautifully now but with a long life ahead. More Vosne than NSG which is just the way I like it. Last sips were the best. — 2 months ago

Tar, wood and a pleasing stemmy note. Balanced and integrated...a beautiful wine. A wonderful expression of Pinot noir — 2 months ago

Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2011

2011 vintage. Open (not decanted) and tasted after two hours. Fresh as a daisy. Tremendous power and finesse with a finish lasting over a minute. Insignificantly small amount of silty sediment. No rush to crush. Really gorgeous stuff. 12.8.23. — 3 months ago

Elegance is the word. Although I prefer a bit more character it’s still a very decent showing — 2 months ago

@Byron Hewett yes it is! I also had the Vieilles Vignes 2017 in the past which was also very good (and seemed to have benefited from some bottle age)
