Lodi Graciano 2017

Family Estate - Las Cerezas Vineyard - Organic - Molelumne River - Lodi

Plum, black cherry, earthy with slightest raisin box in the finish, pleasant acidity, alcohol fume a lil elevated.

Very nice on its own, would like see a blend with 15% Monastrell/Mataro/Mourvèdre ...MMM!

Seeing as Graciano is known as Morrastel in France, it could be a Morrastel/Monastrell blend

Yes, theres a lil Morrastel/Monastrell controversy in CA vineyards... and an M&M blend might irk a big candy company too 😄

Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Really enjoyed this. For a southern california wine it has some Russian river, even sea smoke character. Beautiful nose, finish, balance. — 4 years ago

McManis Family Vineyards

Estate Grown River Junction Viognier

Lovely to pair with a dish that has ricotta, or blue cheese, as I did. It was lightly acidic, but a delicate sweetness takes over before you even notice the acidity. The last notes are a simultaneous experience of honey, melon and citrus. These notes last before gracefully dissipating, but are amplified when paired with the right dish! A 10 all-around for myself and the other individual experiencing this treat! — 18 days ago

Domaine Hippolyte Reverdy

Sancerre Pinot Noir 2015

Crisp but a little chewy and yet well balanced. It’s like the fruit is screaming Russian River Valley but the edited version on the album is dubbed with a hint of graphite. Translation: luvvy luvvy in my tummy. — 2 years ago

Viña William Fèvre

Espino Chardonnay 2011

Earthy, herbaceous aromas of Brown, river mud and clay, cattails, plantain, fungus and peach, with matchsticks and ripe grapefruit. Medium-creamy texture sharpens into bright lemon citrus and Granny Smith morphing into crabapples. Green table grapes, sage, peppercorn, grapefruit and orchid textures shoot to clean river and trout bones. Racy, with twists and turns, a real ride down the rapids #chardonnay #chard #espino #chile #williamfèvre #mountainwine #maipoandes #maipo #SanJuandePirque #pirque — 4 years ago

Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2020

The wine of the evening is the 2020 Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet Sancerre. From the Loire Valley Bué-en-Sanccerrouis. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

On the nose there is lime, white peach, grapefruit, passionfruit, herbaceous, minerality and wet river rock.

On the palate I can tell there is lime, grapefruit, pear, white peach, river rock and finty minerality.

This is a beautifully classic Loire Valley Sancerre that is medium bodied with a crisp fresh mouthfeel medium+ to high acidity with a long citrus stoney minerality finish. Have a great weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Joseph Masbon

Grande Reserve Blanc de Blancs Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2017

Love, love, love this white! Andy Hall Selection: “Masbon Vouvrey is one of the crown jewels in the Surdyk’s wine department – made only for Surdyk’s by one of the Loire Valley’s top producers. Customers and staff continue to see the beauty and value of this wine. It’s versatile and its popularity surges every year around the holidays – it is simply beautiful and goes with everything, particularly Thanksgiving dinner. Made from Chenin Blanc in ancient vineyards that roll along the hills beside the Loire River in central France, this wine leads with aromatic notes of light spring flowers and fresh hay. The palate is clean and fruit-driving with honeysuckle and pear notes, followed by a soft finish. It’s clean, refreshing, classically French, completely affordable, and yet always a value.

White Hill Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2014

Hard to beat LF from a QPR perspective, or any other perspective when it comes to Cali Chard. Beautifully cut notes of river rock, lemon zest, sage pepper all in a restrained and balanced package. — 4 years ago
