Hibiscus, raspberry, tart smell, mild bright red, the wine is acidic and sweet tart without much tannin and strawberry, raspberry and boysenberry that sit together with a wet savory finish — 24 days ago
The very rare Vireuils from Chavy. Nose needs 35 minutes to open up. Starts matchsticky, some discreet oak and a ton of minerals. But under that is lime zest, gorgeous minerals and a sense of rockiness. This is a nose of place. Palate is stunning. It has a rainwater chablis thing but is also so refined and well integrated that is speaks of high end winemaking here. Amazing purity. My partner @Matthew Cohen is bonkers for giving this a 9.3 but he is stingy as Burghound. A stunningly pure and deep bottle of Meursault that does have Chablis vibes. Elegance doesn’t even begin to describe this. — 2 months ago
I don't care for white much and this one is easy drinking — 4 months ago
Half price beauty on K&L.
Winery Notes: "Citrus blossom aromatics, with lemon oil, pineapple, lemongrass, minerality, and viscosity on palate. The Albariño comes from a beautiful vineyard site in Calaveras County, owned and managed by Matthew Rorick and family. The fruit was harvested pre-dawn in mid August at 22.5 deg brix., and promptly hauled "down the hill" to the winery. Whole cluster pressed and fermented in neutral Hungarian oak barrels, there were no additions made to the wine aside from a moderate amount of sulfur dioxide to prevent oxidation. Aged 11 months on lees, and bottled on August 24th, 2016. The vines were planted in 2003 on a mixture of schist, quartz, and volcanic soils." — 3 days ago
