Marqués de Murrieta

Finca Ygay Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2010

Great juice! 1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Classic Spanish nose with coconut and vanilla. Wine has medium depth with minimal black cherry fruit. Extremely soft and velvety. Medium minus finish. I really enjoyed this. Age served this well. — 5 days ago

Loved this wine. In a perfect drinking period but can still go on for a long time. Nice dark berries with cigar box and leather and nice acidity still. — a month ago

Pnp. Floral and vanilla aromas. Black fruit, oak, and vanilla on the palate. I would recommend opening about 30 or so minutes prior to drinking. Good now and improving with some age. — 8 days ago

Ygay Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2015

Highly rated wine by a number of the major rating houses. $18.99 at Costco. Really a great wine for the price. Classic Rioja profile with sour cherry, black plum, blood orange and wet decaying Fall leaves. There’s a slight balsamic note and the dill and vanilla from the American oak stick out. A lot going on for not a lot of money here. Delicious wine. — 10 days ago

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Graciano 2015

Went well with first day of school burgers and dogs. The graciano balanced the youthful tempranillo very nicely. Enjoyed by both of us. — 10 days ago

Trenzado Blanco Tenerife Valle de la Orotava Listan Blanco Pedro Ximénez 2018

More obvious smoke & some sour patch on entry. More subtle than the usual tangy & salty arrows coming from the Canary Islands. — 21 days ago

Marqués de la Concordia

Gran Reserva Lagunilla Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2011

Fun to say about a nine year old wine, but this Rioja needs to be decanted. It was thin fruit juice with little bite in the finish upon first sip. Once it aired out, though, the wine came alive. Dark cherry, stewed strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry jam, black tea, American oak, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of black and white pepper on the palate. Medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, and high acid. Smooth and powerful from start to finish. An example of how masculine a Rioja can present without the need to amp it up with alcohol. — 4 days ago

Very Delish. Big red fruits and w00d on the nose and palate. Maybe some sweet tobacco on the 👃🏽 as well? VERY much enjoyed. Would like to buy a few more bottles and lay the others down as the tannins were still pretty bundled and wine was tight. Bang for buck is tough to beat. — a month ago
