The weekend has started and I have opened the 2015 Marqués de Murrieta Finca Ygay Reserva Rioja. A blend of 80% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha.
On the nose this is a beautifully complex aroma with black cherry, blackberry, plum, licorice, perfumed notes, violets, spice, vanilla, some oak and earthiness.
O the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, star anise, clove, spice, oak, vanilla and earth.
This wine is full bodied silky mouthfeel with high acidity and medium + fine integrated tannins that move wonderfully into a long dark fruit licorice finish.
