The wines bold flavors and tannins went beautifully with steak. It is a beautifully bold Bordeaux blend with ripe integrated tannins. — 4 months ago
Nearing its peak but my god what a supple, leathery beauty — 8 months ago
An icon in Napa, and for good reason. Classic old-skool Napa style. Well mannered, subtle with an easy going temperament, almost backward. Notes of coffee, cinnamon and cherry play of moderate tannins. Acidity is perfectly balanced. No rush at all to consume these. Respect… — 18 days ago

This is a delicious Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with some nice age.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, figs, cedar, chocolates, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, herbs, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Rich and flavorful.
This 18 year old still has a lot of life in it, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is always delicious.

Flight #1 of our 1997 Retrospective. Presented single-blind; no formal notes. On the nose, this shared similar characteristics to wine #3. The most striking of which was a powerful note of finely ground cumin on the nose. Fruit is mostly desiccated at this point; the structure keeping everything together, but just. I called this to be “Rubicon”. While clearly in the sunset of its life, this showed slightly less energy than the Dalla Valle but no less charm. Drink now.

Deep ruby in color with a short reddish/ brick rim. Not showing much age.
Beautiful nose of indian spices, cedar, vanilla, chocolates and herbs.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, vanilla, licorice, eucalyptus, herbs, chocolates and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 20 year old Cabernet Sauvignon is just gorgeous now. Fruit forward and rich. Extracted and interesting. Loved the nose here.
I did not decant it, and left it to open up in the bottle. Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Probably peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Gorgeous stuff. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.
Good by itself as a sipping wine to share with good friends. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak too.
