Really nice wine. Elegant and balanced with a long mineral finish. Shows what restrained winemaking can do with great fruit. Loved it with the Sole and Mac & Cheese, yum! — 3 years ago
My favorite wine Bill and his daughter make. Exuberant, balanced, handmade. Great reference for Coombsville CH, lively spine, just ripe pommaceous fruit, orange oil, peach blossom, contrasted by baking spice, deft oak, creamy lees, vanilla and fresh brioche dough. Generous on the palate, not top-heavy at all. — 5 years ago
There’s an awful lot to like here for @$30. Beautiful ample nose of ripe pear and tart apple. Round, rich attack in the mouth, more weight than anticipated. Very pleasant to pop and pour... drinks very well already. ABV listed at 12.9, the wine shows nice acid/fruit balance and little noticeable oak.. I assume barrrels were 2 or 3 year old. Grapes from four very good vineyards..Rorick Heritage, Heron Lake, Haynes Old Vine, and Brousseau. Nice partner tonight for Veal Piccata and simple cheesy fettuccini. — 3 years ago

I love all things Turley and this is no exception. The Old Vines Zin is made from smaller plots that can’t produce enough for single vineyard bottlings but are by no means inferior. Along with the Juvenile, it is also Turley’s most accessible Zin in terms of price and drink-ability on release. But it can age well as this bottle of ‘13 opened in fall ‘20 showed — tons of dark fruit, graphite, glycerin and a long spicy finish. Love to drink this while I let my Haynes age. — 3 years ago
