Took a while for this cellar beauty to open up, but when it did the nose was PROMINENT and complex! Pale cranberry color with a deep ruby core, and light bricking to the edges, THR nose explodes forth with notes of vanilla, fresh leather, ripe plums, fig preserves, cologne like spice, hints of eucalyptus/menthol and violet, with hints of cedar chips over a full body. The palate is dry, but the tannins are smooth, with a surprising clean finish, with cranberry, blackberry and black tea, with lingering woody notes to the finish and a complex blend of florals and leather/velvet/cigar smoke peppered throughout, with maybe more unsweetened black tea at the veryyy end. — 4 months ago

When I’m not drinking a Napa Cab, I reach for a Jordon. Blend of 80% Cab Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot & 2% Malbec, aged 13 months in 100% French oak (35% new). Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruit, floral and an array of spices. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and fig with oak, vanilla spice, leather and cacao notes. Probably said this before: pound for pound this is the best Napa Cab out there. This vintage specifically is riveting: bright dark fruit with incredible acidity and depth on the palate. Balanced, round tannins, medium alcohol and notes of fig and cedar on the medium plus finish. Yup, hats of to this pretty little dear in 2020. — 6 months ago

Cherry,dried and black; scribbles of graphite in a tinder box. Campfire smoke, and dark tobaccos brood in clusters of black currant. Glints of plum skin and baked raspberries. Cinnamon and cedar shavings. Dried cherry and black berries persist into the palate, with green peppercorns and dried violets dusted in graphite. Smoke snakes around black bread with currants, fig and black raisins. A phenomenal fall treat. That’ll do the trick!
