Medium bodied. Poured a dusty rose. Nose of raspberry tart. Dill and black tea. A little thin for my taste. Served from magnum. This one still has a little bit of tannic grip. Stiff young oak influence. It was ok, but was not a stunner compared to the other wines on the table. This one will undoubtedly improve over the next 10 years and probably still has 20 years in magnum. I definitely look for this one to start condensing down soon? — 4 years ago

Good everyday red. Nice acidity. Not as full as you’d expert from 14%, which I appreciated. — 2 years ago
Love this wine! Lots of cherry on the nose, hints of wood (hickory?). Smoky, dark fruits, somewhat acidic but finishes with some dryness. So delicious! — 5 years ago
Fruit forward and crisp taste at the end. Refreshing with the blackberry tart for dessert. — 6 years ago
Thinking a 1991 Barbara d'Alba would be totally gone by Feb 2017. Thiis was still fruity and drinking nicely. Pleasant. — 5 years ago

Medium garnet hue. Aromas of cherry, earthy, oak, raspberry, rubber, salt, tar, vanilla, and violet. Full-bodied, with robust (yet integrated) tannins and high acidity. Palate of red fruits, rubber, and spice. Complex bouquet with a remarkably round finish that begs for another sip. A well-made wine that's coming into its own, capable of standing up to rich dishes, and worthy of cellaring for still longer. — 8 months ago
