Geantet Pansiot

Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Tons of darker red fruit on the nose and palate with almost a chewy mouthfeel. Hints of cocoa which I would not have expected and almost had a slightly new world feel to it on the nose. 2016 is a really fruit forward and easy drinking year! — 3 years ago

"Pinot Fin" Pinot Noir

Sensational for a Pinot Fin. Kept really well. Tint of sour cherries and wet forest flavours. — 5 years ago

Domaine Leroy

Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

More the classic Burgundian nose not as bold as Pansiot or the Dugat just a gorgeous earthy perfume. Stewed Rhubarb notes. Loved the balanced intensity- simply brilliant from what many consider is a B List Grand Cru but in the hands of Leroy it becomes something magical (and expensive). One taster in our group gave this 99. The guys from Prince reckon Leroy across the board is now dearer than DRC. — 6 years ago

@Ira Schwartz I am the same. Am old enough to have bought a 1982 La Tache in Braine in 1985 for $140 before today's stratospheric prices. As for Leroy have never bought a bottle. That's why these tastings are so great.

That should be Beaune not Braine.

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes

Out third and last bottle - opened up right from the start and showing its vintage with a very fruit forward nose and palate. Almost over ripe. Is a pleasure with food. — 5 years ago

Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Spice box, decaying leaves and a hint of smoke mingle with red cherry, red raspberry and cranberry fruit on the complex nose. The palate showcases the candied yet fresh nature of the fruit in excellent wines from 2002. The acidity is vibrant and the tannins round soft and textured. Just dynamite. — 6 years ago
