50% Refosco 50% Schioppettino
In great shape
It needs time to open up
Yes, you can tell the warm vintage, but hasn't lost a bit of its refosco balsamic freshness.
Plus the schioppettino has added its layers
Incense is so intense that i am afraid it might put off some unexperienced drinkers.
It explodes in the mouth and stays quite long
Long persistent memories of a forest undergrowth and balsamic licorice keep staying with you for a while — 2 days ago

So I realize that we’re suppose to have canceled this producer, but in our defense we were offered this wine as consolation when the Bandol we requested was OOS and there were no complaints.
Damn was this wine an epiphany — intensely fragrant with rose petals and geranium on the nose and palate. Ripe nectarines and blood orange with some nebulous savory herbal quality too. A really special wine to pair with a really fabulous birthday girl @Maura Passanisi

We love the Cab Franc grape best, but haven't had many vintages from outside the United States. This is the best we've had yet! — 24 days ago
The colour is dramatically golden, but is amazingly bright
I thought that perhaps it was gone but the wine has found a balance
It's still fresh with a nectarine fruit
After that it starts with white nougat, hay, lanolin, ferns, lemongrass, ginger, sesame, nearly laksa-like scent.
I admit this could have been a hole in the water, but the wine is singing
Perhaps not extremely long, but unique

Tazzelenghe is for explorers - a foresty wine for foresty people. This rare grape is native Fruilian and an idiosyncratic combination of many things we know well. A nose of ripe blackberries, mint and menthol, forest floor, leather, and dark chocolate fudge. Big ripe chewy tannins so obvious, they make you wonder what a decade would do. Flavors of a blackberry mint Julep. — a month ago
Very elegant and gentle, but with some bitternes of grapefruit. Grapes: malvasia, riesling, friulano. Quite a lot of tropical fruits, but still - it's gentle. — 7 days ago
