Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

Really enjoyed this Monvigliero showing red cherry, strawberry, rose petal & spice box. Youthful with silky tannins that needed some air — 2 days ago

Monleale Colli Tortonesi Barbera 2015

Had this vintners Timarosso same night & both lived up to the hype. A decade of age has made this Barbera blend a deep, soulful expression which I had not yet experienced in such a blend. Game, ripe ripe cherries sing once a decent decant tames the initial shrillness & one note balsamic dimension. Special, for old school fans. — 2 months ago

Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso

This wine gets better every year and still shows the vintage. It's still a lower tier 1 or upper tier 2 Timorasso, but it IS very accessible. — 3 months ago

La Scolca

Bianco Secco Cortese 2018

My first white bottle selection wasn’t available so I chose this instead. Not a bad consolation prize: apple, white peach, citrus nose, medium body, engaging acidity backed by minerality. Great accompaniment to the table’s seafood and chicken entrées. — a month ago

Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2022

Some buzz around this producer so approached with some anticipation. Restrained white flowers & confectionery Turkish delights on nose; mouthfeel quite smooth & elegant, w a stronger Riesling & Chenin Blanc presence, more of those white flowers & some RS. I’ve aged some other producers Timorasso w excellent results so see no reason this can’t do same, but this is drinking well young too. — 2 months ago

Speziale Verduno Pelaverga 2019

Mid cherry red in colour - translucent in parts. Red fruits of raspberry and strawberry with peppery notes. Good value at $47AUD. Slightly bitter at the end - a great food wine as expected. — 4 months ago

Bob….Congrats.
You have found a great wine from an incredible producer.
They also makes a white wine from Favorita grapes which have been genetically linked to Vermentino.
I love drinking it.
