The 2016 Mercurey Les Naugues 1er Cru has a superb bouquet with very precise scents of raspberry, red cherry and a touch of fennel. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, a little ferrous in style with ample finesse on the finish. This is an excellent Mercurey from François Raquillet. La Chaux is a Cerebral ice bath. A beautiful complex thinker.
Sniff this thing. Goes deep. Reminds you that there are three dimensions, four dimensions, maybe other dimensions?
Spiritually oxidized, but also bright and yellow in its Chardonnay birth suit.
Smells like candied lemondrop, sweet basil, and volatile Vietnamese cinnamon. Tastes like browned apples and sour starfruit. — a year ago
Orange; very good but price is steep for this ($38) — 3 years ago
The 2017 Petit Chablis offers impressive intensity on the nose: a light oyster shell scents percolating through the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a taut line of acidity, linear in style with a brisk but focused finish. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2018) — 4 years ago
