Picked up in the discount section of local liquor store. What a steal! Easy to drink. Balanced tannins, smooth finish. — 22 days ago
NOSE: Chocolate, plum, a little chili pepper (?). Smells good but pretty restrained.
TASTE: cedar, muted berries, mustard seed, spices. Strong acidity. The chili powder/BBQ flavor comes through more. This is good but not as good as the regular Beronia (to me), which was much more dramatically flavorful and a good deal for the price. This is nice, and subtler, but not such a great deal. 91. — 3 days ago
The white wines from LdH are rarely boring and this example of the 2009 Gravonia is no exception. It’s always fun to see casual wine drinkers reactions. Most can’t tell if they love them or hate them. 100% Viura, this bottle poured a deep golden color. Notes of ripe melon, funky cheese, roasted nuts and damp basement on the nose. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with a somewhat waxy texture. Notes of melon, lemon, ginger gummies and nuts. Lovely acid. Finish is long. A wine with real character and substance. A wine that makes you think. — 15 days ago
