Deep Ruby with dark fruit aromas and sweet baking spice notes. On the palate blackberry and black cherry flavors with notes of cinnamon, cacao and earthy spice. Savory full tannins on medium finish ending with fruit and forest floor character. Ok for price. Tasting Sample. — 2 days ago
Nose has oxidized pear slice, browning butter, toasted salt, candied pineapple, beeswax, toasted pistachio and dry crushed granite.
Palate has dried apricot, dried lemon peel, dehydrated green apple slices, toasted ginger, un-salted cashew, (minor) tangerine juice, (minor) vanilla oak notes, yet while showing zingy acidity and a never ending finish. Weighty and light on the palate, simultaneously.
Always one of our favorites in the RLdH lineup, the Blanco's will and can age for decades. This bottle should be close to the current release.
90% Viura / 10% Malvasía; Decanted 3 hours.
Amazing wine...I NEED to find the Gran Reserva, but need much more of this one!
A perfect wine to end cap a long weekend, Labor Day (US), or any weekend really! — 12 days ago
Tried this 2x recently. Wow! Ruby with complex fruit aromas, spice and oak. Blend of 90% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano, 48 mos on American oak. On the palate ripe Berry fruits, powerful yet elegant, with spice & smoky earthy notes on full tannins. Long finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with mineral earthy tones and cigar box spice, a joy to Sip!! Tasting great, has more aging potential, try in 10+ years! Great Value! — 11 days ago
This is a delicious nine-year-old Rioja. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with wood, licorice, vanilla, earth, coffee, light vinaigrette, black tea, peppercorn, wet leaves, spices and light herbs.
Full bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity.
Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries.
Needs a couple of hours of airtime to open up properly. Still young and will be better in the next 5 to 10 years.
Rich and engaging. Spicy and tasty.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers. Great with the brie cheese.
A blend of 88% Tempranillo and 12% Graciano. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Plenty of American oak on the nose. Dill & vanilla with some dark plum aromatics. Medium bodied with a classy weight & texture. The oaky notes are there, but a pretty array of red fruit & tobacco leaf add some complexity. Structure is receding at this point and the wine is beginning to show some clove & herbal secondary character. Excellent. — 8 days ago
Nose has smoked plum, dried cherry, red velvet cake, soaked raisins, dried raspberry, pencil shavings, old dark chocolate and dried strawberry.
Palate has rehydrated strawberry, poached strawberry, dried cherry, mashed black cherry, dried blackberry, (minor) dried citrus peel, (minor) cedar shavings, moist leather, medium+ tannins, slightly chewy still, long finish, great bottle. Can hold until 2025-2030 easily, in proper storage.
70% Tempranillo / 20% Grenache / 10% Mazuelo+Graciano; Decanted 4 hours.
Last bottle of a 6-pack bought in September 2005. — 12 days ago
Bing cherry color in the glass with a ruby rim. Just the barest touch of bricking but certainly nothing to be concerned about. Spice and red fruit dominate this nose with black pepper and cherries leading the way. Fresh cut tomatoes, plums, and lavender show up too.
Showing pretty well at this age with no discernible defects. In fact, the fruit is fresh and lively. It’s not an overly complicated wine but it is classy. As much as an old reliable as there can be, it’s silky on the tongue with firm tannins. Vanilla, oak, and damp moss on the palate. This is a winner and reliable as all hell. Pretty stuff. — a day ago
A beautiful color of ruby with a wide brick rim.
Light and gentle nose of blueberries, black cherries, black currants, light oak, Indian spices, cinnamon, light licorice, coffee, light vinaigrette, curry and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, light cedar, vegetables, coffee, tobacco leaf, herbs, black tea, peppercorn, vinaigrette and earth.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 14 year old is drinking very nicely now, although not from the best vintage.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show the beautiful nose, but pretty good right out of the bottle too.
This Gran Reserva is always enjoyable. A nice wine to have by itself or with food, and especially great with fatty cheeses.
