Primitivo di Manduria 2019

Drank with Humbolt Co turkey sandwiches from Cherry St Kitchen on picnic at Blue Hole Park near Lake Hudson. Excellent rose and pairing. Wine was a gift from dad from Easton, MD. One of the best roses I’ve had. Best with food. — 2 years ago

Obscura Fiddletown Late Harvest Zinfandel

Rich, balanced dessert wine. Tastes more like raisins than grapes, which I love! — 6 years ago

Jay Wilderotter Vineyard Syrah 2009

High-altitude Sierra foothills Syrah from Bill Easton. Cassis and currant forward with savory tones and tannins that could use a few more years to resolve. Excellent with an outrageous clove-studded, blood orange-glazed Christmas ham. — 7 years ago

Rinaldi Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel 2011

Fabulous fruity bouquet. 2011 vintage had a pleasant residual sugar and mild Tania’s and acidity. A delightful wine. Great discovery. — 4 years ago

Alanera Rosso Veronese Corvina Blend 2013

Big red fruit and spice, but still smooth. Very good wine with sausage, artichoke, and penne. Really opened up well after about 20 mins. From the $25 table. Easton, MD. — 5 years ago

Cooper Ranch Barbera 2009

2009. Aromas of ripe but tart cherries and berries. Mouthfeel is a delight, with concentrated fruit balanced with bright acids and a sleek run to a juicy, cool, and lingering finish. A structured wine with enough complexity for easy versatility when it comes to food pairings. Sausage and peppers, various pastas, grilled meats -- all within the wheelhouse of this youthful, restrained wine. Six years in it's still on the young side. 14.5% abv. — 6 years ago

What's going on today? I just saw a high score of Life Cooper Mountains Vineyard Pinot Noir and now...another Cooper wine! It would appear that this is my surname's week! Maybe I should play the lottery or buy a vineyard

Estate Bottled Shenandoah Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Another good one from Bill and Jane. Blackberry, black cherry, cassis up front with mellower green peppercorn, eucalyptus in the mid-pallet, lingering in the finish. Always fun to drink well-made Sierra Foothills Cab. — 6 years ago
