This is not quite the steal it once was but still the best QPR by miles at Trader Joe’s. A nice right bank Bordeaux with acidic cherries, pencil shavings, vegetal notes, and grippy tannins. — 2 months ago
Nice Saint-Emilion to celebrate my place in Montesson. Paired it with Polenta Valsugana, with Gorgonzola, Mascarpone and Chèvre — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2020 “Grange le Duc” has some real Volnay sensibilities with lovely, elegant fruit and forest floor with a taut structure. This responded very well to air and I expect this will flesh out with some cellar time. Drinking well now with some patience and will continue to do so through 2030. — 5 days ago
Bessards-Greffieux. Tastes 3 years old 😂😂 enveloping richness tempered by sturdy tannin and that classic Hermitage granitic bite. Layered, some part coarse and angular marrying with some parts supple and round. All working very well IMO. The Faury finesse and subtlety is there, this is a thinking wine, perfect for not sharing on Father’s day. — 4 months ago

Fresh & bright.
Grenache red fruit glory with raspberries, some dusty undergrowth, a bit of renclode plum, lebenden, rosemary, baked hot earth. Fresh & aromatic.
Poised, balanced, fresh & juicy. So drinkable. Juicy tannins, bright acidity, juicy, crunchy red fruit. But also depth, character, flow.
A brilliant wine, great value for money, too! — 8 months ago

2007 Rhones drying out…?
Not this one!
Wonderfully balanced and complete, this oozes luxurious notes of cassis and blackberries, classy leather, brown spices, smoked ham, pinches of black pepper and sandalwood. Juicy, fresh, classic hedonism.
Marvelous. — 12 days ago
