From a winery we really miss, this is the flagship cuvee from Delectus. Their daughter did the artwork for their Cuvee Julia bottles, and with rare exceptions (their 2007 Cab Franc being one of them), this meritage is always the star of a given vintage. Classic Napa cab that is still drinking really well. — a year ago
Tasted right after finishing the 2009 Bear Crossing. This was also excellent and drinking well. An interesting comparison between the two. While the Bear Crossing had more depth, this one had greater breadth to the palate. Could be that this is ultimately a slightly better wine than the Bear Crossing and that it will gain some more weight in the next couple of years. Doesn’t much matter to me, though, since these were the only bottles of these two wines that I had in the cellar. Both excellent wines, though. Enjoy! — 2 years ago
Fittingly consumed during Euro 2020 final - tasty beginning but the real enjoyment was 90 mins later. Chocolate covered blueberry flavors with some tobacco and red licorice aromas. — a year ago
Decanted 3 hours. Served with some sous vide dry-aged NY strips. — 7 months ago
Without question the best cabernet franc I’ve ever had from California, this is unfortunately the last bottle I have. I don’t know what happened in 2007, but Gerhard made a spectacular cab franc that has no parallel before or since (of course, the winery no longer exists - at least not in any recognizable form - but you get my meaning). Still drinking incredibly well, this was a singular achievement from what always was a WAY underrated winery. — a year ago
